Our Philosophy
at Commercial Legal Software
Comparison shopping for office automation involves
more than an evaluation of the software itself. Once you
decide to install a system, you will be establishing a
long term relationship with the system vendor.
Accordingly, the business philosophy of the system vendor
is likely to be (and should be) an important factor in
your decision making. Especially among the leading
systems, it is often this philosophy -- or way of doing
business -- that is the major difference between vendors,
and therefore between the systems.
Presented here is our Commercial Legal Software
"10 Commandments" philosophy for doing business
with our customers. We are proud to document and present
this critical information for your use in making the most
informed choice in automating your office. Like our fine
software, we feel that our business philosophy helps set
Commercial Legal Software apart from all others. Of
course, if you should have any questions about any of our
positions or policies, please call us at 1-800-HELP-CLS
(435-7257) for additional information and clarification.
- Our standard license agreement includes a
six-month money back guarantee that can be
exercised by the customer at the customer's sole
discretion (license fee only + travel expenses
are not included in the guarantee).
- Our standard license agreement provides for full
system source code to be maintained at the
customer site at all times after full payment of
the license fee, and after expiration of the six
month guarantee period.
- Full support and enhancements are included for
one full year from initial installation, without
additional cost to the customer.
- A minimum of five days of training are included
with each new license (plus travel).
- Customer participation in our annual support and
enhancements contract is optional.
Non-participants are billed on an incident basis
for telephone support, and they do NOT receive
annual enhancements, but they DO receive
telephone support.
- We do NOT insist that you buy everything for your
system from us. In fact, we do not sell computer
hardware. We are
happy to work with the customer's hardware
supplier.
- The cost of our annual support contract is NOT
linked to the customer's volume of business. Our
job is to install and support our software. The
customers' jobs are to increase their business, and
with us, the two are unrelated. Therefore, the
cost of our support does not increase as the
customer's claims volume increases. We sincerely
hope that Collection-Master will help you to grow
your business. When that happens, you will NOT be
required to pay a higher annual support fee for
the same system, just because your business has
increased.
- We do NOT maintain constant, unsupervised access
to our customer's systems via remote access, and we
especially do NOT monitor the performance of our
customer's collection activities. Whenever we
need to contact our customer's system via the internet, it is ONLY when the customer is in the
office, and/or has specifically authorized our
remote access. At CLS, our philosophy is that the
customer's system and the customer's data is the
customer's business, not ours. Our only interest
and concern should be (and is) the customer's
satisfactory use of our software.
- Only users are invited to our user meetings.
Prospects are NOT invited. We feel that our time at our user meetings should be dedicated to
helping our existing users get more from their
investment in Collection-Master, and should not
be used as a marketing opportunity for our
company.
- Our license agreement does NOT give us the right
to come into the customer's system via remote access and
disable the system in our customer's office. Once
the customer has paid our license fee, the system
is the customer's to use, and we may never
disable the customer's system for non payment of
the annual support, or any other reason. We do
have the right to revoke the license, in writing,
for any violations of our license agreement, but
we do NOT have the right to electronically
disable the entire system in the customer's
office.
At Commercial Legal Software we feel that our
software, Collection-Master, is the finest, most mature,
feature-rich, and highly evolved system of its kind. We
also feel that our philosophy of business is fair and
straightforward, allowing the customer to control the
relationship with our company, not the other way around.
All system vendors do NOT take the same approach.
We feel very strongly that the closer you look at a
system and the company policies, the more comfortable you
will feel with Collection-Master and Commercial Legal
Software, Inc. |
