The preceding IP Address locator is made available as a resource for Collection-Master
users in need of technical support. When connecting to pcAnywhere through the Internet or
TCP/IP, your support technician needs to be informed of your IP Address. This page is
intended to help you identify this value. Please beware that a firewall or proxy
server may distort the resulting value, rendering it unreliable.

pcAnywhere
Setting up a “Host PC” to call a “Remote PC" via a "Network"
connection:

- Determine and make note of which version you are using by selecting About pcAnywhere from the drop down Help
menu.
- Display the Enter Names or IP Addresses of TCP/IP Hosts to Search For
window.
- v.8 From the File menu, select Application
Options, then click on the TCP/IP tab.
- v.9 From the Tools menu, select Network Options,
then click on the TCP/IP tab.
- v.10/10.5 From the Tools menu, select Options,
then click on the Remote Communications tab.
- Under Enter Names or IP Addresses of TCP/IP Hosts to Search For, input
the IP address provided by your CLS technician. Click on Add. Click on Apply,
then on OK.
- Click on the Be a Host PC button in versions 8 or 9; click on the Host
button in versions 10 or 10.5.
- Right-click on the NETWORK connection icon (versions 10 and 10.5 refer to
this item as NETWORK, CABLE, DSL), and select Call Remote.
- A window will appear requesting the selection of an IP address.
- v.8/9 Select the address entered in step 4. If you’ve
used pcAnywhere prior to
this session, a list of previously entered IP addresses will appear; simply
select the correct one from the list.
- v.10/10.5 Oddly, the IP address entered above in step 4
is not displayed here in these versions. Retype — or copy and paste
— the address into the window’s text field.
- Click OK.
